Coffee Break: Merchants of Green Coffee

While trying to find a coffee shop to do work (sometimes I can’t work at home, bed is too enticing), my brother suggested Merchants of Green Coffee.

ImageImageBest described as well hidden, even hole-in-the wall, Merchants is a pretty decent cafe to escape to. It feels like an old warehouse, with old wood floors, beams, exposed brick and furniture of odds and ends. If you don’t mind the occasional appearance of dust and cobwebs in the nook and crannies, the cafe is pretty spacious, quiet and unpretentious, making it a decent working environment.

I don’t know much about coffee, but as long as it’s not burnt, I will drink it. The baristas seem to know what they are doing. After all, they offer roasting workshops.

The cafe is found right off of Queen St. East, next to the DVP. It is literally hidden in the corner of Matilda St.
