Thursday was Macaron Day, a day where participating patisseries offer complimentary macarons, and a portion of proceeds from additional purchases of macarons would go to a local charity. Here, the donations was going to Red Door Family Shelter, a local organization supporting homeless families, and women and children who are affected by abuse.
While I have not been able to fully participate in Macaron Day since its inception here in Toronto because of work, I had the privilege of having macarons brought to me.
Lemon Rosemary and Mango from Aren’t We Sweet? The mango did not have much mango flavour. The lemon rosemary was the best of the two, even though it was sour, I was able to get hints of the rosemary.
Blood Orange from Daniel et Daniel. There was a bit of blood orange flavour, but I was wishing for more.
Marshmallow and dark chocolate form MoRoCo Chocolat. The marshmallow was dense but it tasted like vanilla ice cream. I loved the dark chocolate though as it was not too sweet. Plus, I love chocolate so it was given that this would be my favourite of the bunch.
Boston Cream from The Sweet Escape. This one is the most unique one out of the ones we got. Just like a Boston Cream doughnut, with the chocolate dip on top.
