One of the places I was really looking forward to visiting was the Ghibli Museum in Mitaka.
Getting tickets was a struggle; Jeff and I spent about an hour and a half trying to buy tickets, which you must buy approximately a month in advance.
Entrance is by time slot, so you must arrive to the museum prior to your entrance time. If you are early, you can walk around Inokashira Park.
On the day we visited, the park had a festival. Although I don’t remember what festival it is, it reminded me of the many community festivals that Toronto holds throughout the Summer. We walked around to kill time.

The museum is a bit like a maze and can be crowded, everything is in Japanese, and you’re not allowed to take any pictures inside. You can take pictures outside in the rooftop garden.
Nonetheless, the museum is a wonderful place for Ghibli/Hayao Miyazaki. The little exhibits throughout the museum makes you appreciate how much work goes into a Ghibli/Hayao Miyazaki films. I was literally reverted back into a kid here.
